VIOLENCE/GORE 4 - A collision between two young girls on horseback and a huge truck, with an implied fatality. Two scenes showing a severely mutilated horse in great distress. The violent scenes are few, but extremely powerful: blood is shown in some snow and a horse is shown with bloody wounds on his nose and leg. A horse's nose is badly scarred. A girl's injuries cause her to have part of her leg amputated (not seen).
LANGUAGE 3 - 3 scatological terms, several mild obscenities and insults.
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Illicit love and passion, marital problems, tragic real-life events.
MESSAGE - Life can bring harrowing ordeals; but you can - and must - get back up on the horse.
CAVEATS
Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.
We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.
Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
Mufasa: The Lion King - 1.4.2
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 - 1.3.3
