Quirky British comedy about very proper, middle-aged Grace (Brenda Blethyn), who discovers that her recently departed husband squandered all their money and left her with a huge mortgage. So she uses her greenhouse and green thumb to grow Marijuana plants (see Note below for a detailed explanation). SEX/NUDITY 4 - In a brief scene an obviously stoned policeman is running around naked. We very briefly glimpse part of his genitals (the scene does not have sexual content). There are several discussions about sex and brief references to sexual practices, including brief references to pregnancy and homosexual sex/rape in prison. In the context of a joke a man talks about beetles having sex with humans. A man unzips his pants and it is implied that a couple will have sex (nothing is shown). Some cleavage.

VIOLENCE/GORE 2 - Mostly presented in a light-hearted manner: In three different scenes, a man threatens three different men by holding a switchblade to their throats. Several old women attack and hit a man repeatedly with their purses. A man jokingly slaps another man, and a woman angrily slaps a man. A man shoves a cameraman away (we see it from the camera's perspective). On TV we see a scene from an old Christopher Lee Dracula movie. We see several people smoking Marijuana (see Note). MESSAGE - Growing and using Marijuana may be illegal, but it's not immoral. Friends should stick with friends during difficult or dangerous times.

(Note: The film deals with the growing and selling of Marijuana as a consumer commodity. While it is often mentioned that this activity is illegal and participants go to prison, many otherwise law-abiding citizens and the local constable turn a blind eye. We also see several people consume Marijuana: as a cigarette, sipped as tea, and in one scene many people inadvertently get high after they inhale smoke from burning Marijuana plants. Invariably, people who are high are shown to be uncontrollably joyful and gentle -- although one woman apparently throws up.)
