"One of the 50 Coolest Websites...they simply tell it like it is" - TIME
Office Space | 1999 | R | - 5.3.9
Fed up with office politics and corporate culture, Ron Livingston stops working -- and starts getting promoted. Jennifer Aniston, David Herman, Ajay Naidu, Gary Cole, Stephen Root, Alexandra Wentworth, Todd Duffey and John C. McGinley co-star.
SEX/NUDITY 5 - Lots of sexual innuendo and one kiss. In a dream, a shirtless man holds a woman's foot above his shoulder (we see nothing more than the woman's foot and the man's torso and face, but it's implied that they're having intercourse). On a television program, a topless woman demonstrates how to perform a breast examination. A woman wears a revealing halter-top and in another scene she wears only a T-shirt.

VIOLENCE/GORE 3 - A man falls out of his chair and dies from a heart attack. A man tries to kill himself by inhaling carbon monoxide fumes (he fails). A truck smashes into the side of a car; we later see the driver of the car in a wheelchair with casts all over his body. Three men destroy a computer by kicking, punching, and hitting it with a bat. A man slices a fish's belly and pulls out its slimy, slightly bloody intestines. We see a building engulfed in flames.
LANGUAGE 9 - Nearly 30 F-words (many are heard in songs), lots of anatomical and scatological references, lots of mild obscenities and several racial slurs heard in rap songs. Twice, someone makes an obscene finger gesture.
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Work, corporate culture, hypnotherapy, embezzlement, revenge.
MESSAGE - No one likes to work, but most of us have to.
CAVEATS
Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.
We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.
Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
Mufasa: The Lion King - 1.4.2
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 - 1.3.3
The Piano Lesson - 3.5.4
Homestead - 1.5.4
